About this time in the unfolding events of the early church Jesus has been be revealing himself to his disciples and in this passage has an important question for Peter. The question was not only relevant when it was asked originally but is to be personalized to us today.
Do you love me?
This is a very "pregnant" question. It's filled with many emotional ingredients. Peter's response as well as ours today will determine our moving into all the Lord has for us.
Let me add some insights.
Throughout our Christian walk we will be faced with personalized tests to reveal where we are in this love/trust relationship with the Lord.
These tests are essential "growth" platforms as we enter into new levels of our calling and destiny.
As we pass them and respond correctly we enter into greater aspects of provision and ministry.
(Remember we don't fail the test the Lord set's before us... we just get to take it again).
In order to receive all the Lord has for us we must understand of His love.
Important: We can only receive love to the degree we love ourselves.( see ourselves as having value in the Lord's sight).
We typically only love others to the degree we are able to trust them.
If we cannot pass the "trust test" and live in
The Lord's love ..
We will discount ourselves and doubt His desire to release His favor to us. (Anointing)
Jesus asked Peter and through the Holy Spirit He asks us
Will you receive my love and trust me in everything that happens this year?"
Will you love and trust me completely and totally above everything that the world has or offers?"
In my message of 5/8/11 I ministered on
How to know when You love and trust Jesus totally in response to His question "Do you love Me"?
Here are the points for you to consider.
How to know when You love and trust Jesus totally:
You Don't Fear The Future
You Trust Him In Leading your Life
You Seek His Will In Everything
You Desire To Please Him Above All Others
You Let love for Him direct your actions
Receive His Love
You Seek to Grow More In Love Each Day
Use these points to help guide your movement into the days ahead. They will allow all the Lord has for you to unfold.

Pastor B
A mouse looked through the crack in the wall
to see the farmer and his wife open a package.;
"What food might this contain?", the mouse wondered.
He was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap.
Retreating to the farmyard,
the mouse proclaimed this warning :
"There is a mousetrap in the house!;
There is a mousetrap in the house!"
The chicken clucked and scratched,
raised her head and said, "Mr. Mouse,
I can tell this is a grave concern to you,
but it is of no consequence to me.
I cannot be bothered by it"
The mouse turned to the pig and told him,
"There is a mousetrap in the house!
There is a mousetrap in the house!"
The pig sympathized, but said,
"I am so very sorry, Mr. Mouse,
but there is nothing I can do about it
but pray.
Be assured you are in my prayers."
The mouse turned to the cow and said,
"There is a mousetrap in the house!
There is a mousetrap in the house!"
The cow said, "Wow, Mr. Mouse. I'm sorry for you,
but it's no skin off my nose."
So, the mouse returned to the house,
head down and dejected,
to face the farmer's mousetrap
. . . Alone !
That very night
a sound was heard throughout the house
-- the sound of a mousetrap catching its prey.
The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught.
In the darkness, she did not see it.
It was a venomous snake
whose tail was caught in the trap.
The snake bit the farmer's wife.
The farmer rushed her to the hospital.
When she returned home she still had a fever.
Everyone knows you treat a fever
with fresh chicken soup.
So the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard
for the soup's main ingredient:
But his wife's sickness continued.
Friends and neighbours
came to sit with her
around the clock;
To feed them,
the farmer butchered the pig.
But, alas,
the farmer's wife did not get well.
She died.
So many people came for her funeral
that the farmer had the cow slaughtered
to provide enough meat for all of them
for the funeral luncheon.
And the mouse looked upon it all
from his crack in the wall
with great sadness.
So, the next time you hear
someone is facing a problem
and you think it doesn't concern you,
remember ---
When one of us is threatened, we are all at risk.
We are all involved in this journey called life.
We must keep an eye out for one another and
make an extra effort to encourage one another.
YOU MAY WANT TO SEND THIS
TO EVERYONE WHO HAS EVER
HELPED YOU OUT...
AND LET THEM KNOW
HOW IMPORTANT THEY ARE.
- REMEMBER -
EACH OF US IS A VITAL THREAD
IN ANOTHER PERSON'S TAPESTRY.
OUR LIVES ARE WOVEN TOGETHER
FOR A REASON.
